Elementary Sailing Course
The elementary sailing course program consists of the essential knowledge and skills you can acquire in sailing. During the course, theoretical skills of the sailing essentials sail aerodynamics, navigation skills, maneuvering with engine and sails, weather forecasting, avoiding collisions on sea, safety on sea, etc. are acquired.
In the practical part of the course a special attention is paid to the elementary sailing skills, where attendants in groups of maximum 5 persons with one instructor have enough time to gain skills for independent sailing.
The Sailing Course is held aboard a First 7500.

Day 1 - Meeting in Uvala baluni bb in Split at 11.00 a.m. The attendants will receive hand-books; they will be acquainted with their instructors and with the placement of the sailing boat in the same marina.
They will be introduced to the basic terminology; sailing towards the base in Milna.
Upon the arrival in Milna, on the island of Brac, attendants will be shown how to put the ship out of commission.
The course attendants will be accommodated in the base; dinnertime, appointments for Sunday, questions and conversation, etc
Day 2 - 9.30 am - theory, first 15 minutes knots exercise , theory
11.00 am - early lunch
12.00 am - putting out, sailing
18.00 pm - sailing back to the base, putting sails and rigging in order
19.00 pm - dinner, comments, appointments for the next day
Day 3 - 9.30 am - coffee break, theory
11.00 am - early lunch
12.00 am - putting out
Exercising on the sea polygon
18.00 pm - returning to the base, putting sails and rigging in order
19.00 pm - dinner, comments, appointments for the next day
Day 4 - 9.30 am- coffee break, theory
11.00 am- early lunch
12.00 am- putting out; exercising in the marina; mooring – unmooring; sailing;
18.00 pm - returning to the base, putting sails and rigging in order
19.00 pm - dinnertime, comments, appointments for the next day
Day 5 - 9.00 am - coffee break, theory
11.00 am - early lunch
12.00 am - putting out
Sailing to the nearest islands: Brac, Šolta, Hvar or Vis.
18.00 pm - returning to the base, putting sails and rigging in order
19.00 pm - dinnertime, comments, appointments for the next day
Day 6 - 9.00 am - coffee break, theory
11.00 - early lunch
12.00 - putting out

Day 7 - 9.00 am – competition in seamen's skills, theory

Arrival in Split by 15.00 pm, putting sails and rigging in order, washing and cleaning;
The course attendants will be given diplomas and occasional gifts. |

• Elementary seven-day-courses have their start in Milna including arrival and departure from Split and vice versa. Meals and accommodation in Milna are included in the price.
• The headquarters of the School are situated in Milna on the island of Brac, with the rooms and moorings of the Sailing School. Half board is included in price.
• The School instructors are Croatian representatives in Olympic categories with outstanding sailing experience and the years-long experience as professional skippers in the nautical tourism. |
