Dinghy Sailing can be a social activity done with friends and family, a highly competitive sport with racing at club and international level, or a high adrenaline buzz whilst sailing one of the modern high performance dinghies. If dinghy sailing is something that you've always fancied then our Discover Dinghy Sailing intro could be the perfect taster for you.

It consists of an hour's private tuition with an experienced instructor who will provide you with an insight into the exciting and dynamic world of sailing. By the end of the hour you will know if dinghy sailing is something that you want to continue with, in which case sign up to one of our RYA Level 1 courses.

Experience Content:

Your instructor will meet and give you a quick introduction to the boat before you head out on to the water aboard a double handed dinghy. You will be shown the principles of sailing such as tacking and gybing and will have the opportunity to take control of the boat to really get a feel for this great sport.

You will have the instructor to yourself for the hour so take advantage to find out as much as you possibly can about what the sport can offer.

You should allow 1hour 30 minutes for your experience at the center.

What to Wear / Equipment:
Bring a Swimming costume, and non-slip shoes that you are prepared to get wet. All other specialist equipment including lifejacket is provided.

Private tuition but spectators are welcome to watch.

Weather:
Sailing courses can be weather dependent and in extreme circumstances the course may be affected, in which case the centre will provide alternate dates. Please check with the center either the day before or on the day of the activity to confirm thta your activity goes ahead.

Age Restrictions: 6yrs, under 18 must be accompanied with a parent/guardian.
