Explore the history of old Dubrovnik and enjoy the beaches of its islands by kayak, by bike or on foot!

This tour isn't just a sailing trip or adventure package. It is designed for those who love being active in the nature, who admire art and history and appreciate ancient architecture and local tradition. Daily activities are rather short and not too demanding. Dubrovnik and Elafiti shorelines are rich in history and natural variety - cliffs, caves, coves, rocks, beaches, pine forests... We will explore them on a sailing yacht, in sea kayaks, on bicycle or on foot and by swimming or snorkeling.

Lopud, Kolocep and Sipan belong to the Elafiti Islands archipelago - green islands covered by forests with lots of sunshine and sandy beaches, devoid of traffic, and under an hour’s sailing time from Dubrovnik. Each has no more than a couple hundred permanent residents who live in stone houses of traditional character. Tall palm trees, parks, gardens and flowers everywhere contribute to an easy going lifestyle. Occasionally our yachts or kayaks are escorted by friendly dolphins or tuna that are often seen in the area. The sea is blue, clear, warm and friendly.

Itinerary / Highlights

Day 1 Sat: After the arrival at Dubrovnik Airport or harbour you will be transferred to Zaton Bay, a village just outside of Dubrovnik. After boarding and shopping in the local stores we will sail out northwest to Lopud Island. Both the island and the town of Lopud are small - a walk across the island to a sandy beach on the southern side takes only half hour.
For the night we will anchor in one of the most beautiful bays of the area for dinner and a swim.

Day 2 Sun: Luka Sipanska on the far end of the island is a charming and romantic fishing village and bay surrounded with palm trees. It is picturesque and a favorite mooring place of sailing yachts. Sipan is the largest of Elafiti Islands and bicycles will take us to explore its landscapes, castles, chapels and monasteries. This fishing and farming island was often a target of pirates and conquerors long ago. Nowadays it attracts tourists while resisting the attacks of mass tourism. A pleasant day will be spent walking in the serene ambience of the village, tasting local seafood and wines and enjoying a swim. We will sail between the other Elafiti Islands with occasionally swimming or snorkeling stops, end is in Ston – a lovely old town unspoiled by tourism, with pleasant pubs and restaurants.

Day 3 Mon: Today we explore the Peljesac Peninsula, one of the most successful and famous wine making regions in Croatia. It is a true oasis of peace with its vast vineyards, salt and oyster farms, quiet towns, narrow streets and hidden beaches. We will spend the day sea kayaking to the White Beach, a very special bay which can be reached only by boat or kayak. Its caves and reefs make it an ideal place for swimming and snorkeling.

Day 4 Tue: After breakfast and morning coffee we sail northwest to Mljet Island National Park. The northern part of the island is covered with a dense, green forest. The Park has two beautiful salt water lakes, one with a 14 century monastery on a tiny island. We will explore them on foot and in kayaks or on bicycles, enjoy a swim in the warm waters of the lakes and hike. There will be time for a fresh seafood lunch by the lake in Soline, a fishermen village. The night will be spent on the yacht anchored in a quiet bay.

Day 5 Wed: This day is reserved for the activity of your choice. Spend it relaxing on the beach or take an optional trip to the old walled town of Korcula. You could visit Dubrovnik if you think you won't have enough of it or you could go canoeing on Trebizat River in Bosnia and Herzegovina including the visit and walk in the old Ottoman trading town of Mostar. Tonight you will no longer sleep on the boat but in a room in one of the Zaton Bay houses near the sea. It's possible to book a 5-day/4-night option - in that case this is where your trip ends.

Day 6 Thu: Today we shall kayak to the best sea kayaking island in the Adriatic – Kolocep Island, just outside of Dubrovnik and Zaton Bay. After exploring and enjoying its beaches, caves and cliffs we shall relax in a friendly atmosphere of a local fish restaurant before returning to the bay. From there it will be only a short drive to Dubrovnik for the evening in this fascinating town.

Day 7 Fri: The World Heritage site – Dubrovnik - is the most beautiful town on the Mediterranean. You will certainly want to spend some more time there and we encourage you also to visit the Lokrum Island Reserve during the old town busy hours, around noon. You may want to enjoy it until late in the night on this last evening – or have the last dinner with your friends in one of the quiet places of Zaton Bay.

Day 8 Sat: After breakfast departure to Dubrovnik airport.

PLEASE NOTE: If enough interest this travel package is available with modified itinerary – starting with Zaton Bay accommodation in the first half of the week and sailing from Korcula to Zaton Bay in the second half, with Mostar/Trebizat canoeing excursion in between.
