Trip Highlights
Our private group skippered yacht charters and sailing holidays are available on any dates from April through to October. A minimum charter of 4 days is recommended but we also offer shorter charters for groups who are short on time or who are seeking a 'taster' experience. Early booking is recommended to secure your preferred dates. A skippered yacht charter offers a different way to experience some of the finest scenery in the Scottish Highlands. Starting and finishing from the fishing village of Ardfern near Oban, this area offers some of the best sailing in Scotland, with many fascinating islands to visit including Jura, Mull, Iona and the Treshnish Isles. You will be well looked after by our skipper and chef, who will offer a customised menu for your group throughout the charter. Sailing Holiday – Island Hopping in Scotland As this is a private sailing charter, it is up to you to decide how much time you want to spend sailing or onshore. Some groups will happily sail all day while others are content to simply sail between anchorages and spend much of their time on land exploring the islands. We can suggest itineraries based around wildlife watching, walking, whisky distilleries - or simply the best sailing in Scotland! Whatever you do, we think this will be a sailing holiday which will provide you with happy memories for years to come. Sailing Holiday – The Crew The yacht is crewed by a skipper, first mate / chef, each of whom has an excellent knowledge of the islands. No previous experience of sailing is required within your group unless you are planning a longer or more challenging crossing, such as to one of the outer isles. Unless requested, there is no dedicated walking guide on board the yacht. However, the skipper is a local and knows these islands like few others do. Therefore, he can recommend many excellent onshore activities and may even join you ashore to stretch his sea-legs!Price Details

Accommodation Details
This private yacht charter is normally based aboard the wonderful yacht, Sealgair.
Sealgair is a beautiful modern wooden ketch. Completed in 1991 to the skipper’s specification, she has been designed with Scottish charters in mind. Carrying up to 7 guests in 3 cabins this professionally run yacht is fitted with all mod cons including en-suite shower and toilets, central heating, 240V electricity, fridge and freezer.
The aft stateroom has a large double bed, en-suite shower, toilet, hanging locker, armchair, bookshelf and lockers. The Midcabin has twin single cabins with bookshelf, hanging rail, and lockers. It is superbly finished virtually entirely in Sapele veneers. Toilet shared with forecabin.
The Forecabin has a Double V berth or twin singles with shared toilet, and a hanging locker. There is a separate twin single crew cabin. Meanwhile, the Main Saloon has a chart table, galley, comfortable seating and a spare pilot berth.
The yacht also benefits from central heating, hot and cold pressurised water throughout, a water heater (both engine driven and electric), a watercooled Grunert fridge and large freezer, warm duvets and towels throughout, hairdryer and hot water bottles!! There is also a stereo system with tape and CD players, and a cellular phone.
Finally, fishing tackle and 2 adult bikes are kept on board. There is also a child’s bike, which is suitable for a 9 year old - or slightly taller 7 or 8 year olds! There is room for a further 2 bikes if guests want to bring their own.
Although we may be at sea, the food is a real highlight and we can expect creative and wholesome meals often prepared with fresh local produce, such as seafood or venison. Vegetarians and other dietary requirements are willingly catered for – simply let us know in advance.
Evening dinner is taken on board, gathered round the dining table over a glass of wine as we recall the day’s events and look forward to the morning. A Michelin-starred chef can be arranged on request, although early booking is essential for this and a surcharge applies.
