Start Racing

This is a purpose built program to introduce the novice sailor to the world of yacht racing. Whilst starting with the basics of Competent Crew (if necessary), this relaxed course is aimed to teach you the tasks and skills required to enable you to step aboard future race boats armed with both knowledge and confidence.

Itinerary / Highlights

During the week you will be introduced to:

Set up of a race boat
The language of racing
Specific jobs onboard
Where you fit within the team
Sail trim
Sail changing/handling
Spinnaker handling and packing
The importance of communication
Sailing a race course without any pressure

Amongst other valuable skills of race craft.

This includes:
Accommodation on board
All food on board/ expect to eat ashore at least twice
Use of foul weather gear & lifejackets.
All mooring fees/fuel other boat expenses
Group bookings of 5 or more deduct 15%.
