Stay and Sail in Porto Heli is based at the Nautica Bay Beachclub. The Beachclub is an excellent base for your first week ashore - a lovely spacious hotel with loads of facilities.

If you are doing a yacht training course you will enjoy practical hands on training, sailing out from Porto Heli daily learning the ropes en route. The training is comprehensive and fun in preparation for setting sail with the rest of the flotilla on your second week.

When you are not training you can sail our fantastic range of dinghies, try your hand at windsurfing or join our bike guide on a ride into the surrounding countryside. Alternatively, why not hire a car and explore the local area? Of course, you do not have to be active to enjoy a Stay and Sail week – you are welcome to just relax and soak up the sunshine.

Itinerary

You may take one of two routes, heading east or west from Porto Heli. Flotilla routes are for example only and are not fixed. Routes may change depending on the size of the flotilla, time of year and weather conditions. Distance travelled is approximate and in nautical miles. Duration in hours is based on an average of 5 knots per hour, taking the most direct route (without stopping) to your next destination.

West itineray:
Day 1 -Saturday - Join yacht on pontoon in Porto Heli
Our base is ideally situated to enjoy the best that the Peloponnese has to offer.

Day 2 - Sunday - Plaka - 16 miles - 3 hours
Sailing from Porto Heli across the Argolic Gulf to the pretty harbour town of Plaka, set against a dramatic backdrop of high mountains.

Day 3 - Monday - Astros - 19 miles - 4 hours
Heading north from Plaka, your next stop is Astros, a bustling fishing village with a good harbour and sandy beach.

Day 4 - Tuesday - Navplion - 9 miles - 2 hours
Once the first capital of modern Greece, Navplion is a maze of intriguing streets and squares with buildings dating from the Venetian, Turkish and neo-classical buildings.

Day 5 - Wednesday - Vivari - 9 miles - 2 hours
The fjord-like inlet to Vivari is magnificent with sheer cliffs rising from clear blue sea. The entrance boasts a Venetian mini fort, which fell just a year after its construction in 1714.

Day 6 - Thursday - Khaladi - 12 miles - 2 hours
Moor up in the bay of this small fishing town, look out for the turtles which are often spotted here and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.

Day 7 - Friday - Porto Heli - 11 miles - 2 hours
Spend the day making your way back to the Neilson base in Porto Heli; there is plenty of time to stop for lunch in one of the many bays en route.

Day 8 - Saturday - Departure Day
You will leave your yacht and join our transfer coach back to Athens airport.

East itinerary:-
Day 1 - Saturday - Porto Heli

Day 2 - Sunday - Ermioni
Once an important harbour, today little remains of the ancient city and the village is relatively untouched by tourism.

Day 3 - Monday - Methana
Known for its thermal springs, Methana is an island connected to the mainland by a narrow crossing. Methana Town has an attractive tree-lined promenade with a variety of tavernas and bars.

Day 4 - Tuesday - Epidavros
Home to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Greece - an ancient theatre, wonderfully preserved.

Day 5 - Wednesday - Poros
Just 250 metres from the mainland, Poros is a tiny island said to have once been home to Poseidon.

Day 6 - Thursday - Spetses
A beautiful wooded island, with an attractive main town featuring broad squares and avenues.

Day 7 - Friday - Porto Heli

Day 8 - Saturday - Departure Day

Accommodation Details

Nautica Bay Beachclub:-
Porto Heli stretches around the head of a large bay at the tip of the Argolic Peninsula, opposite the island of Spetses. A pine-covered headland almost encloses the bay and creates a large, natural, safe sailing area.

The Nautica Bay Beachclub is a family run hotel with a relaxed, informal atmosphere, excellent standards of service and a friendly welcome. Accommodation is located amongst extensive grounds and gardens, which wind their way down a gradual incline towards the seafront. This layout ensures an uncrowded feel and peaceful setting to return to after a day on the water or relaxing around the pool.

The village of Porto Heli is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel and has a great selection of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets and a number of lively bars and tavernas open until the early hours.

Accommodation during your week ashore:-
There is a choice of twin, double and triple rooms, many have partial views of the bay while others look out over the gardens. All have air conditioning, broadband connection, en suite shower and wc, telephone, small fridge and balcony. A superior room with large bath and lounge area is available for a supplement.

Modern family rooms are located at the top of the gardens in a secluded area away from the pool. They consist of a double and twin bedroom with a connecting door, large shared bathroom with bath, shower and wc, small kitchen area with fridge and sink and a single access door. There is also a selection of inter-connecting rooms located in a separate block, each with their own entrance and ensuite facilities.
